1984: Oceania is ruled by a perfect totalitarian system that is monitored by "Big Brother". Alia Luque, Christoph Rufer and Ellen Hofmann adapt George Orwell's classic for Ballett Basel as the ACE trio. The power of words is enough to control an entire state. One's own thoughts are dangerous. Disobedience is punished. The official language controls people's minds. '1984' is a choreographic exploration of literature on stage that dissolves the boundary between theatre and dance.
