Frauke Willimczik, a German mezzo-soprano, studied singing at Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and in Hanover. She attended master classes with Kleesie Kelly, Carol Richardson and Elisabeth Glauser, to name just three. Solo engagements have taken her to Mecklenburgische Staatstheater in Schwerin, Volkstheater Rostock, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Theater Stralsund, Kiel, Lübeck, Magdeburg, Ulm, plus many more. In her many years as a soloist, Frauke has sung various roles, including Hänsel, Carmen, Orlofsky, Martha, Dorabella, and Olga. In addition to opera, she is also passionate about classical and concert singing. Frauke has performed concerts at the Berlin and Paris Philharmonic, at Amsterdam Muziekgebouw and in Erfurt Cathedral. In the 2015/16 season, she acquired special skills in early music ensemble singing as a permanent ensemble member of the Rias Kammerchor. She has been a member of the opera choir at Theater Basel since the start of the 2016/17 season.
