Lesemann Stage design

Simon Lesemann, born and raised near Hanover, studied architecture at the Technical University in Berlin. Lesemann first worked as an artistic assistant and assistant stage designer/costume designer at various European opera houses and theatres, including the Flanders Opera in Antwerp/Gent, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Hannover, the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Belgrade Drama Theatre, the Berliner Ensemble, Schauspiel Köln, and the Theater an der Wien. He has a long-standing artistic collaboration with the director Ersan Mondtag. Most recently, he designed sets for the productions 'Geschwister' at the Maxim Gorki Theater, 'Drama' at the Volksbühne Berlin as well as 'Zwei auf einer Bank' at the Berliner Schaubühne and the set design for the online theatre piece 'Hinter den Zimmern' at Schauspiel Köln in cooperation with the streaming provider Twitch. Lesemann has also worked as a set designer on various film productions since 2019.
