Wälti Bandleader, musician

Anita Wälti, born in Biel in Switzerland, studied trumpet in Fribourg, Berlin, Hamburg and Bern with professors Jean-François Michel, Matthias Höfs, William Forman, Markus Würsch and Giuliano Sommerhalder. She holds a Master of Music and a Master of Pedagogy with a minor in jazz trumpet, which she studied with Bert Joris and Matthieu Michel.
She has held several temporary and temporary contracts in professional orchestras and regularly plays in renowned German symphony and opera orchestras, where she has worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, Marek Janowski and Michail Wladimirowitsch Jurowski. She is a member of the New Chamber Orchestra Potsdam. She is also active in chamber music formations and in both early and contemporary music. Numerous own works in the field of music performance/dance theatre expand her field of activity. Anita Wälti teaches trumpet/euphonium at the Fribourg Conservatory and the Solothurn Music School and is a specialist in pedagogy at the Bern University of the Arts.
Anita Wälti has been working increasingly for theatre music since 2012. She has been the musical director for numerous productions at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin, the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg and the Basel Theatre. In the 23/24 season, she is part of the band for 'Die Dreigroschenoper'.
