Evelin
Facchini Choreography

Evelin Facchini is a freelance choreographer, director and dancer, born in Rome and based in Berlin. She works internationally in the fields of dance, theatre and opera. She graduated from the ballet school of the opera house in Rome and continued her studies in Canada. She has worked at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Concordia University of Montreal and the Teatret Om (Denmark) as well as with Romeo Castellucci, Socìetas, the Ballet Classique de France et Montreal, Micha van Hoecke (Belgium), Larrio Ekson (USA), Dina Abu Hamdan (Jordan), Floriane Facchini & Cie (France), David Stöhr (Germany), Marta Górnicka (Poland) and Oliver Frljić (Croatia). She leads educational projects and workshops for students and professionals in the fields of movement research and choreographic composition. From 2011 to 2018 she directed the dance studio 'Theatre Dance Division' in Rome. Her personal project 'Metalouda' was born from the intention to combine her composition practice and choreographic research by creating installations, short films and performances. In 2022 she created the project 'Political Voice Institute' at the Maxim Gorki Teater in Berlin with Marta Górnicka and in March 2023 the production 'Wry/Second layer - anatomy of deception' at the Heizhaus-Uferstudios in Berlin. 'Mothers - a Song for Wartime' followed in September 2023. She has been working with Romeo Castellucci since 2011, most recently for 'Daphne' at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
